Life in the counts of Kyburg’s castle kitchen was simple.
On the hearth cereals are boiled in a three-legged pot, a chicken is being plucked, a mouse hides from the cat. Knowledge about medieval eating habits is gained from archaeological finds. 800-years-old nuts, pears, cherry kernels, beans and cereals tell us about the count’s menu. Spices, both domestic and imported ones, can be discovered and smelled in this kitchen.
